Product Description
Two conspicuously missing elements in Christian families today are parents catechizing their children and the absence of family worship as a normal part of the daily routine. Puritan George Hamond shows the biblical pattern for family worship with examples from the Old Testament—Abraham, Job, and Joshua—and then that of Christ and Cornelius from the New Testament. This is an important book for those who want to establish the centrality of worship in their homes.

Author

George Hamond (1620-1705) began his education at Trinity College in Dublin and completed it at Oxford. He was for a while minister at Totness in Devon, and later minister to a large congregation of dissenters at Taunton, in conjunction with George Newton.  He later moved to London, where he co-pastored with Richard Steele. He died in October of 1705. This book on family worship and his funeral sermon for his close friend Richard Steele are the only two works he saw published. No portrait of him is known to exist.

Bound for Glory begins with a conversation between father and son, R. C. Sproul, Senior and Junior, about the importance of leading families in a covenantal relationship with God. R. C. Sproul, Jr., then discusses the implications of this covenantal relationship for husbands, wives, children, and the church family. He speaks especially to men as the leaders in their households, encouraging them to make God’s Word known to their families, to help their wives and children grow in godliness, and to take responsibility for the testimony of their family to others.

Bound for Glory will help you and your family be bound together as a covenantal family for the glory of God. Updated and expanded second edition!

More teens are turning away from the faith than ever before: it is estimated that 75 to 88% of Christian teens walk away from Christianity by the end of their freshman year of college. Something must be done. Family Driven Faith equips Christian parents with the tools they need to raise children biblically in a post-Christian, anti-family society. Voddie Baucham, who with his wife has overcome a multi-generational legacy of broken and dysfunctional homes, shows that God has not left us alone in raising godly children. He has given us timeless precepts and principles for multi-generational faithfulness, especially in Deuteronomy 6. God's simple command to Moses to teach the Word diligently to the children of Israel serves as the foundation of Family Driven Faith.
